Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at support@adfv-ohs.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Australian Defence Force Veterans – Overseas Household Services (ADFV-OHS) is a veteran-founded business that helps eligible Australian veterans living overseas access DVA-funded support services.

We assist with Household Services and Attendant Care programs, helping veterans prepare claims, organise supporting documentation, and coordinate approved services overseas.

Our support is provided at no cost to the veteran, with services funded through existing DVA entitlements where approved.

Veterans who have DVA-accepted conditions may be eligible for support.

Eligibility depends on how those accepted conditions affect a veteran’s ability to manage household tasks or daily living activities.

If you are unsure about your eligibility, ADFV-OHS can help you understand your entitlements and assist with preparing a claim where appropriate.

Support may include services delivered under DVA Household Services or Attendant Care programs.

Examples may include:

  • Domestic cleaning
  • Lawn mowing and gardening
  • Laundry assistance
  • Minor safety modifications (e.g. grab rails or ramps)
  • Assistance with personal daily living activities where approved.

Each service must be linked to accepted service-related conditions and approved by DVA.

ADFV-OHS works to identify suitable service providers who can communicate effectively with veterans.

Where possible we engage English-speaking or bilingual providers, and we assist with coordination, scheduling, and service management so veterans do not need to deal directly with local administration unless they wish to.

Yes. If you don’t currently have household services approved, we can assist you with:

We work with bilingual or English-speaking service providers wherever possible. ADFV-OHS manages contracts, payments, and performance so you don’t have to deal directly with local administration unless you want to.

ADFV-OHS coordinates services so that payments can be managed through our administration process in line with DVA approvals.

This helps reduce the administrative burden on the veteran and ensures services operate within DVA requirements.

Thailand has one of the largest known communities of Australian veterans living overseas.

Our initial engagement has focused on locations such as Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Hua Hin, where many veterans reside.

This allows us to establish reliable service providers and build a model that can later be expanded to other countries.

Yes.

While the initial rollout has focused on Thailand, ADFV-OHS is open to assisting eligible veterans in other overseas locations.

If you live in another country, please contact us and we will discuss whether services can be coordinated in your location.

Once a claim is lodged, ADFV-OHS helps coordinate the process by:

  • Monitoring claim progress
  • Assisting with any additional documentation required by DVA
  • Identifying suitable service providers
  • Preparing services to commence once approval is granted.

ADFV-OHS currently focuses on coordinating services delivered under Household Services and Attendant Care programs.

We are also exploring additional support options for veterans living overseas, including support for those entering aged care or assisted living environments.

No.

ADFV-OHS is a veteran-owned and operated private business that assists veterans in accessing support funded through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

Yes.

With your consent, ADFV-OHS can liaise with your treating professionals to help coordinate assessments and documentation required for DVA claims.
