Meeting Australian Veterans Across Thailand October 2026

Are You an Australian Veteran Living in Thailand?

If you are, you'll have an opportunity to meet with ADFV-OHS during October 2026 as we travel throughout Thailand to meet with Australian veterans and the organisations that support them.

Whether you've never explored what DVA-funded Household Services or Attendant Care may be available while living overseas, think you or someone you know could benefit from these services, are planning a move to Thailand, or you're already an ADFV-OHS client, we'd be pleased to meet with you while we're in your area.

Our aim is simple—to help Australian veterans living overseas better understand, access and maintain DVA-funded Household Services and Attendant Care, while providing an opportunity to ask questions and discuss their individual circumstances in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Why This Visit May Be Relevant to You

Living overseas can present unique challenges when accessing and maintaining DVA-funded support services.

Whether you're exploring these services for the first time, think you may benefit from Household Services or Attendant Care, are planning a move to Thailand, or are already receiving support, meeting face-to-face provides an opportunity to discuss your circumstances and receive practical information tailored to your situation.

If you're already an ADFV-OHS client, we'd also welcome the opportunity to catch up, see how things are progressing, and discuss any future support you may require.

We're also interested in hearing about your experiences of living overseas and the issues that matter to you as an Australian veteran. Those conversations help us better understand the challenges veterans face while living overseas and continue to inform our work in developing practical solutions and contributing to broader policy discussions that support the overseas veteran community.

What You Can Expect

During our visit, you'll have the opportunity to discuss topics including:

  • DVA-funded Household Services for veterans living overseas.
  • Attendant Care and its ongoing development for veterans living outside Australia.
  • Accessing and maintaining Household Services and Attendant Care while living in Thailand.
  • Planning for future support needs.
  • Your own circumstances and how ADFV-OHS may be able to assist.

You'll also have the opportunity to share your own experiences of living overseas and raise issues affecting veterans in Thailand. While ADFV-OHS specialises in Household Services and Attendant Care, understanding the broader experiences of Australian veterans helps us identify emerging issues and contribute to practical improvements that benefit the overseas veteran community.

Whether you're looking for specific information or simply want to introduce yourself and have a conversation, you'll be very welcome.

Where We'll Be

The current programme includes visits to the following locations:

  • Bangkok5–8 October 2026
  • Hua Hin8–11 October 2026
  • Chiang Mai11–15 October 2026
  • Pattaya15–21 October 2026

The itinerary is substantially confirmed. Specific venues, Veteran Information Session dates and individual consultation opportunities will be announced as arrangements are finalised.

Publishing these dates now allows veterans to begin planning should they wish to attend a local information session or arrange to meet while we're in their area.

Veteran Information Sessions

Veteran Information Sessions are planned in each location, subject to final venue arrangements.

These sessions are intended to be informal, practical and relevant to Australian veterans living overseas.

They will provide an opportunity to:

  • Better understand DVA-funded Household Services and Attendant Care.
  • Learn how these services are currently being delivered in Thailand.
  • Ask questions in an open and informal setting.
  • Meet other Australian veterans living in your local area.
  • Learn more about how ADFV-OHS helps veterans understand, access and maintain these services while living overseas.

Further information, including venues, dates and times, will be published as they are confirmed.

Would You Like to Meet One-on-One?

Not every conversation is suited to a group setting.

If you'd prefer to discuss your own circumstances privately, there will also be opportunities to arrange an individual meeting while we're in each location.

Whether you're considering applying for Household Services or Attendant Care, planning a move to Thailand, already receiving support, or you're an existing ADFV-OHS client, we'd be pleased to meet with you where time permits.

More Information Will Follow

This page will continue to be updated as arrangements are confirmed.

Over the coming weeks, you'll find further information about:

  • Veteran Information Session venues.
  • Dates and times for each location.
  • Individual consultation opportunities.
  • How to register your interest.
  • Updates as the October programme progresses.

If you're an Australian veteran living in Thailand, we hope you'll take the opportunity to come along, ask questions and meet with us while we're in your area.

Whether you're simply seeking information, considering your future support options, or would just like to introduce yourself, you'll be warmly welcomed.

We look forward to meeting many of you during October.
