Information Sessions

Learn How DVA Household Services and Attendant Care Work

If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.

Announce coming events

ADFV-OHS regularly offers information sessions and individual consultations for Australian veterans living overseas who want to understand how DVA-funded support programs work.

These sessions are designed to explain how services such as Household Services and Attendant Care can be accessed, and how ADFV-OHS can assist veterans in organising and coordinating those services overseas.

Sessions are informal, practical, and focused on answering questions veterans may have about eligibility, claims, and service delivery.

What We Cover

During an information session we typically discuss:

  • How DVA Household Services work
  • How Attendant Care may apply to some veterans
    • how claims are prepared and assessed
  • How services are coordinated overseas
  • Common issues veterans face when accessing support abroad
  • Upcoming changes to veterans’ legislation.

These sessions are intended to provide clear, practical guidance rather than complicated policy explanations.

Group Sessions

From time to time ADFV-OHS hosts small group discussions or community information evenings for Australian veterans living overseas.

These sessions allow veterans to:

  • Learn how DVA-funded services work overseas
  • Ask questions in a relaxed setting
  • Meet other members of the Australian veteran community.

Locations and session details are announced when available.

One-on-One Consultations

Veterans who prefer to discuss their circumstances privately can arrange a one-on-one discussion.

These conversations can take place via:

  • Telephone
    Video call
    Online meeting platforms.

This allows veterans to discuss their individual circumstances and explore whether Household Services or Attendant Care may be appropriate.

Who These Sessions Are For

Information sessions may be useful for veterans who:

  • Are unsure whether they may qualify for Household Services
  • Are preparing to lodge a claim
  • Are already receiving support and want to better understand their entitlements
  • Are living overseas and finding it difficult to organise services locally.
